The Right Fit For Your Ears
Your ears are like fingerprints- their size, shape, and abilities are unique to you. This means there is no “one size fits all” solution when it comes to hearing aids, and why partnering with someone that has both expertise and personal experience with hearing aids is beyond comparison.
Much like your fingerprints, we individualize your treatment plan to match your specific needs and goals. To ensure we have every option available to us, our office made the conscious decision not to align with any one hearing aid manufacturer. In doing so, we are able to offer you the best possible technology for your hearing loss and lifestyle; because every hearing challenge is unique, so too are our solutions.
The past decade has seen a revolution in hearing aid technology. Gone are the days of bulky devices with limited functionality. At McNamara Hearing, our customized treatment plans will ensure the optimal performance of your hearing devices over their life, but more importantly, we take time to make sure you are comfortable and knowledgeable with using your devices.
Over-the-Ear Hearing Aids
Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE)Receiver-in-canal (RIC)
By far the most popular hearing aid style, Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) hearing aids stand out for their unique design. Unlike traditional BTE models, RIC hearing aids have a speaker located in the ear tip rather than up on the ear in the device's body. This innovative design not only enhances discretion, making them nearly invisible but also ensures a sleek and compact fit. The RIC style is an excellent choice for those seeking both superior comfort and performance in a discreet package.
BTE with Earmold
Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aids are a popular choice for many people with hearing loss. These devices are designed to sit comfortably behind your ear, with a thin tube connecting to a custom-made ear mold. BTEs offer a range of features, including adjustable volume, noise reduction, and Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio. They are often preferred for their versatility, as they can accommodate various levels of hearing loss and are suitable for people of all ages.
In-the-Ear (ITE) Hearing Aids
Invisible In-the-Canal (IIC)
Invisible-in-Canal (IIC) hearing aids are the most discreet option available, designed to sit completely within the ear canal, and virtually invisible to others. These tiny devices offer excellent sound quality and a natural fit, making them a popular choice for people with mild to moderate hearing loss who prioritize aesthetics. However, due to their size, IICs may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with larger ear canals or more severe hearing loss. At this time, IICs cannot be rechargeable and cannot wirelessly pair to a cell phone.
Completely In-the-Canal (CIC)
Completely-in-Canal (CIC) hearing aids are a good option for a person looking for a more discreet fit, but still values and wants wireless connectivity or rechargeability. While a little larger than IICs, these aids offer the best of both worlds - a comfortable fit and a nearly invisible solution, while giving access to wireless Bluetooth device connectivity.
In-the-Canal (ITC)
The In-the-Canal (ITC) device is ideal for patients needing advanced features like volume control, directional microphones, and extended battery life. Designed to fit comfortably in the lower part of the outer ear, these devices offer a seamless user experience. With a slightly larger form factor than Completely-in-Canal (CIC) devices, ITC devices provide enhanced functionality as well as being a good option for people with some dexterity issues, such as arthritis or tremors.
